2018 "Critical Issues" Leadership Summit

Imagine a world where there is no homelessness, poverty, hunger, or health concerns . . . Imagine
a world where other local and global needs receive the attention they deserve and
the solutions they demand . . . Imagine a world where young people are educated
and empowered to be part of these solutions . . .

What are you willing to do as "Experts" and "Changemakers" to make this vision come true?

Please join us on November 1st to explore possibilities, become more deeply informed, and prepare to take meaningful action by collaborating with others who share your vision and commitment.  Think of the impact we can have if we put our collective knowledge, gifts, and passions together through high quality service-learning initiatives across our “Growing Together” Network! Click here for more detailed information.

Michelle Heritage is the Executive Director of the Community Shelter Board. She is a passionate "expert" and "changemaker" who leads CSB’s coordinated, community effort to end homelessness. She is determined to end homelessness in central Ohio, and she wants to enlist our input and support, especially regarding youth homelessness. To make the most of this opportunity, Michelle Heritage and CSB will involve our participants in special (and kid-friendly) activities and conversations to generate the feedback and perspectives they are seeking.

Who and What

The annual "Critical Issues" Leadership Summit will include a series of interactive and thought-provoking opportunities:
  • We invite you to bring students (grades 1-12) to our November 1st event.
  • We’ll experience new awareness and outreach/action activities around the issue of youth homelessness and other issues that you can use or adapt in your work with colleagues and/or students.
  • We’ll gain new knowledge via our agency partners and engage them in a "call to action" re: their most critical challenges and needs.
  • We’ll brainstorm and prioritize next steps re: high quality service-learning for maximum impact.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Thoroughly enjoyable. Passion of presenters drove the 3R’s (Rigor, Relevance, Relationships) through activities that help synthesize my learning of PBL and SLP [project-based learning and service-learning projects]. The time spent developing our understanding and creating an action plan for implementation was most helpful." -- Course participant
