Harry C. Moores Foundation Awards Grant for Continuation and Expansion of “Growing Together” Service-Learning Network

Columbus, OH—The Harry C. Moores Foundation, which provides charitable support to a number of humanitarian and educational efforts, has awarded a $15,000 grant to the non-profit organization Partnerships Make a Difference for the continuation and expansion of its “Growing Together” Service-Learning Network in the 2016-2017 school year. This support enables the Network to help a diverse network of more than 45 K-12 schools and 25 community agencies expand their use of service-learning as an instructional strategy to enhance academic achievement/student success, promote school improvement/reform, increase civic engagement, and address critical community needs. The Network has continuing commitments from public, private, parochial, charter, urban, suburban, and rural schools in central Ohio who are extremely excited about participation in the Network.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Thoroughly enjoyable. Passion of presenters drove the 3R’s (Rigor, Relevance, Relationships) through activities that help synthesize my learning of PBL and SLP [project-based learning and service-learning projects]. The time spent developing our understanding and creating an action plan for implementation was most helpful." -- Course participant
