Columbus, OH--The Martha Holden Jennings Foundation has awarded $24,500 to Partnerships Make A Difference to continue expanding the base of trained service-learning practitioners in more than 35 K-12 schools that belong to our “Growing Together” Service-Learning Network in central Ohio. Specifically, the grant supports two 2015 “Growing Together” Service-Learning Leadership Seminars (Level 1 and Level 2), which will build on the success of our previous MHJF project and will again be designed to strategically promote excellent teaching.

The two Service-Learning Leadership Seminars are designed to (1) increase the number of effective service-learning practitioners in “Growing Together” Network schools; (2) enhance at least 60 participants’ knowledge, skills, confidence, commitment, and productivity re: service-learning “best practices” and excellent teaching; (3) result in high quality service-learning projects that impact at least 2,250 additional students; and (4) result in effective dissemination of these “model projects” and related “lessons learned.” An evaluation team is in place to assess program outcomes. Both formative and summative evaluation will occur, and both quantitative and qualitative measures will be utilized.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Thoroughly enjoyable. Passion of presenters drove the 3R’s (Rigor, Relevance, Relationships) through activities that help synthesize my learning of PBL and SLP [project-based learning and service-learning projects]. The time spent developing our understanding and creating an action plan for implementation was most helpful." -- Course participant
