Course Information

2018-2019 Vision and Leadership in Service-Learning: A Level 2+ Seminar Series (Register Now!)

The seminar series is designed for "graduates" of "Service-Learning: Level 1" or "Level 2+" course(s) who wish to continue their professional growth as service-learning/PBL practitioners and leaders. Ashland University credit (fees paid by the participant) or CEUs are available annually to all group members.

The seminar experience will function as an interactive professional learning community (PLC) and "think tank" that enables participants to "work on the work" of service-learning together. This coming year, we will focus especially on enabling participants to function more effectively and confidently as service-learning/PBL "building leaders."
Participants will be able to strengthen their professional leadership skills through a variety of PD experiences and collaboration opportunities. They will utilize these experiences, skills, and opportunities to help build service-learning/PBL awareness and support in their respective settings, as well as to enhance their own projects/initiatives.
Course instructors will be Ellen Erlanger (retired from Upper Arlington Schools) and Kathy Meyer (retired from Worthington Schools), educational consultants with Partnerships Make A Difference.

"I wrote on my evaluation paper that your class was the best class I have ever taken. I really did mean that. I can not count all the classes that I have taken since undergrad that have not been relevant. My kids...on days after class began asking..."What did you get from class last night..."  I think I had become like a kid the day after Christmas. I was always anxious to get back to my students and tell them something new." -- Course participant

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Thoroughly enjoyable. Passion of presenters drove the 3R’s (Rigor, Relevance, Relationships) through activities that help synthesize my learning of PBL and SLP [project-based learning and service-learning projects]. The time spent developing our understanding and creating an action plan for implementation was most helpful." -- Course participant
