Service-Learning/PBL Leadership Seminar: Level 1 DetailsService-learning is an instructional strategy that directly connects community service with the school curriculum, adding rigor, relevance, and relationships to the learning process, enhancing social/emotional development, and helping students actively address significant local/global needs. It is an especially engaging form of PBL—an instructional approach that enables students to “do the work of real people” by investigating important questions and solving authentic problems.
The SL/PBL Leadership Seminar: Level 1 will meet 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (coffee, etc. available at 8:30 a.m.), on July 23, 24, and 25, 2019. Four required follow-up sessions will be held—September 4, October 2, Nov. 20, and Dec. 4 (4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) to ensure project continuity and support. All sessions will be held at The Graf Center (Upper Arlington Schools), 2020 Builders Place, Columbus, OH, 43204 unless we notify you otherwise. Participants will have an option of 2-3 semester hours of graduate credit through Ashland University or equivalent contact hours for CEU certification. |
